The beautiful Magnolia Mansion in New Orleans graces the cover of our 2011 Destination Weddings issue, and for good reasons.
Proclaimed as the “Romance Capital of The World” by the New Orleans City Council, New Orleans is a place of historic significance, romantic ambiance and a fabulous destination. It is no secret that New Orleans is home to delicious food, great music, and celebrating life. It is no wonder that New Orleans has become one of the top wedding destinations
in the world.
And Magnolia Mansion is a perfect destination wedding venue. Looking like Tara from the novel “Gone With the Wind”, this stately mansion with its ‘Old 
South’ charisma, is the perfect backdrop for the wedding ceremony and the wedding photography.
The grand, imposing exterior, and the ornate, opulent interior are like a Hollywood movie set.
“A magical moment in time deserves a magical place to celebrate,” said owner Hollie Vest. “Magnolia Mansion has been a labor of love for me to restore and decorate. I wanted to create an atmosphere and ambience that a bride and groom will always remember and a place that guests will never forget.”
Magnolia Mansion so resembles Tara from “Gone With The Wind”, that Hollie chose to decorate a traditional bridal suite to honor this romantic story. It is a traditional bridal suite with the largest and finest luxury king guest room at Magnolia Mansion.Wedding couples love this beautiful bright guest room, which makes them feel like Scarlet O’Hara and Rhett Butler as they open the 12-foot cedar door and enter into Tara so to speak. There are three -12 foot windows dressed with Austrian sheers and covered with reproductions of the famous green velvet drapes with gold fringe that Scarlet found to be so 
beautiful and from which she made her dress.
